A picture posted on the author’s blog states that “A New Kind of Christianity” is in good company on this bookshelf:
Now, I can’t make out all the authors, but if I were to recommend one book on this bookshelf it would be the fourth book from the left on the bottom shelf, “What Jesus Demands fromt he World” by John Piper. I think that a G.K. Chesterton book title has the best wording for comparing “A New Kind of Christianity” and “What Jesus Demands of the World” – Heretics and Orthodoxy. Of course, another book on the top shelf might just be the best definition for some of the other books – Adventures in Missing the Point.
Ok, some of that might be qualified as “cheap shots” so I’ll just stand by my one book recomendation – If you are going to choose one book of that shelf to read, choose “What Jesus Demands from the World.”
*update – just noticed that some of the books might be more appropriately catalogued on the next shelf back…*
