Two Blogs
In my daily excursion through blog-land I came across two posts that dealt with humility. The first dealt with pride/humility in the ministry and was written by someone I consider a good friend (who I must welcome to WordPress). The second was written by John Piper…who doesn’t know me from Adam, but listed out six aspects of humility from Scripture.
Meditations on Psalm 150
Psalm 150:6 – Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!
Bringing the book of Psalms to a fitting end, the psalmist calls upon all living creation to praise the Creator. Looking back over the myriad of emotions portrayed throughout the book we recognize that praise is not secluded to one emotion. Praising our God is a joyful thing, but it can be done in the pits of despair as well as the mountain tops of joy. We can praise God for His patience and for His justice and vengeance. We can praise God for chastisement and for restored fellowship after we stumble in sin. We praise God for His Word, a light to our feet and a lamp for our paths. We praise God for His mighty works, for His sovereign control of creation, and the loving kindness He displays toward His sheep as He guides them through dark valleys and beside still waters. Yes, even in the psalms of anguish and despair the psalmist praises God. When the Psalmist calls for the destruction of his enemies, the focus is on God. And of course in Psalms like 150 where the whole psalm is about praise, the receiver of that praise is God.
We have a great God, worthy of all our praise…and more! Praise the Lord!
You know it would be really cool if you had that logo on the brick wall as graffiti.. cuz the stamp effect on the wall is a bit hard to read. too many bold colors. (just to help on the logo thing)
and thank you for the welcome. and the linkage there daniel
One must remember the skill of the logo-creator, and the fact that he’s using free photo-editing software (gimp) instead of really good, but expensive stuff like adobe.
